WATERLOO — Harvey K. Frye, 93, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born April 6, 1920, in Williams, son of Harry and Adele Hillpipre Frye. He married Dorothy I. Airhart on March 29, 1941, in the Cameron United Methodist Church, Cameron, Mo.

He graduated in 1938 from Clarion High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Frye worked at Rath Packing Co. and then served as the President of the Rath Packing Credit Union until retirement in 1980. He was a member of Kimball Ave United Methodist Church, Mason, Martin Lodge No. 624 A.F & A.M., Ascalon Commandery, Eastern Star, El Kahir Shrine and Waterloo Firehouse Gang, and the American Legion.

Survived by: his wife of Waterloo, a daughter, Kathye Bedard of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Mauro of West Des Moines; a grandson, Jeffrey Bedard of Johnson City, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Justin, Jake, Madalyn, Olivia and Sophia; and a sister, Marie Bradfield of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a brother, Mervin Frye.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kimball Ave United Methodist Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. Masonic Service by Martin Lodge No. 624 A.F & A.M.

Memorials may be directed to the family or the Kimball Ave United Methodist Church.
