WATERLOO — Lillie I. Enlow, 96, of Bettendorf, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Trinity Bettendorf.

She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Bedford, daughter of Addison and Anna Sinison Fanning. On Aug. 15, 1938, she married James Russell Enlow in Troy, Kan. He died Oct. 28, 1976.

Mrs. Enlow was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf, for a number of years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Bettendorf and was a volunteer for the former St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary.

Survived by: a daughter, Susan (Marlyn) Cornelius of Cedar Falls; a son, Steven R. of Bettendorf; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Elston Goodenbour of Readlyn; and her best friend and caregiver, Candy Ayers.

Preceded in death by: her son, David; a daughter, Barbara Goodenbour; two sisters, Flossie and Betsy; and three brothers, Bob, John and Loren.

Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf. Additional visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home, with graveside services following at 1:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to the Scott County Humane Society.

Lillie enjoyed reading, sewing, doing embroidery and always had a soft place in her heart for animals.
