Word was received yesterday of the death of A. J. Wittick, Waterloo resident for 33 years, in Los Angeles, Cal., Friday morning.

Mr. Wittick owned and operated the Wittick Food Market for 33 years before going to California in 1934. The store was first located on East Fifth and Lafayette Streets, then in the 300 block on West Fourth street.

Born in Germany on Oct. 24, 1879, Mr. Wittick came to the United States when he was 14 years old.

In 1899 he married Carrie Logston in Baxter, Iowa.

Survivors are his wife in Los Angeles; three daughters: Mrs. Berneice Gigi, 1901 Lafayette Street; Mrs. Mildred Bently and Mrs. Freda Zack, Los Angeles, Calif; two sons, John, Los Angeles, and Morris, Long Beach, Calif; two brothers, Gus, Toledo, Iowa, and Herman, Cambrdige, Iowa; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be Tuesday afternoon at Los Angeles.
