WATERLOO- Marion L. "Red" Crossley, 93, of Waterloo, formerly of Ottumwa, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his home.

He was born November 7, 1915 in Rockport, MO, son of Grover C. and Verne (Rossean) Crossley. He married Martha Potter on August 12, 1943 in Champaign, IL. She died February 27, 2005.

Mr. Crossley graduated from Ottumwa High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He was employed with John Deere Ottumwa Works for thirty-five years, retiring as a supervisor on February 6, 1981. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder; he was a member of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M., Davenport Consistory and KAABA Shrine. He also was a member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Trudy Crossley of Mason City; three granddaughters, Jody (Cody) Lewis of Pfluggerville, TX, Alissa (Clifford) Sexton of Mason City, and Amanda (Andy) Schneider of Monmouth, IL; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Hannah Lewis, and Rylee Sexton; three sisters, Frances Truman of Waterloo, Edna (Arnold) Madsen of Cedar Falls, and Priscilla (Frank) Cagley of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Crossley in 2008; and two sisters, Louis Jarvis and Mary Bremhorst.

Visitation will be held 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls (266-3525). Additional visitation will be held Monday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, beginning after 1 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., and 7 p.m. Masonic Services.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Ottumwa, with burial in Ottumwa Cemetery. Military services by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post # 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Memorials may be made to the church or Wapello County Hospice.
