Noan B. Oliver, 74, a baggageman on the Land of Corn suffered a fatal heart attack Tuesday night on the return trip from Chicago. He was dead when the train reached Dyersville at 9:30 p.m. His home is at 809 Dawson St.

The son of Finus and Caroline Fowler Oliver, he was born Apr. 1, 1880, at Unionville. For 37 years, he, was employed as a brakeman and baggageman for the Illinois Central Railroad He had been a resident of Waterloo for 40 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

In 1907 he married Dolores Morris.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters: Mrs. Beatrice Polso 809 Dawson St.; Mrs. Berniece Niles, Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs Marlys Schreiber, 828 South St.; one son, Donald, 809 Dawson St.; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; two brothers, William of Grinnell and Simon of Azusa, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

The body is at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home, where funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral services for Noan B. Oliver, 74, of 809 Dawson St. who died of a heart attack Tuesday night while working as a baggageman on the Illinois Central railroad's Land of Corn will be Friday at 4 p. m. at Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Charles Gunnell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
