Evelyn V. Hoppe, 83, of Ravenwood Health Care Center, formerly of 1653 Carriage Hill Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1992, of natural causes at the care center.

She was bom Aug. 10, 1909, in Everly, daughter of J.O. and Nellie Tesey Phillips. She married Otto Hoppe in 1926 in La Porte City. He died Jan. 30, 1988.

She and her husband owned and operated Hoppe's Cafe in Hudson retiring in 1964.

Survivors include a son, Richard of Waterloo; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter, and a sister, Rachael Lee of La Porte City.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; a sister, and two brothers.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, where the family. will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will be an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
