John Poock

TRIPOLI — Services for John Poock, 63, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Faith United Church of Christ, Tripoli. He died of natural causes this morning (Nov. 3, 1988) at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Janell Meester of Ellsworth, Minn.; his mother, Martha of Denver; a sister, Loris Wood of Seattle; a brother, Duane of Tempe, Ariz.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Erich; and a brother, Larry.

Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rettig Funeral Home, Tripoli, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Mr. Poock was a schoolteacher for 17 years in the Dunkerton and Tripoli school districts before retiring and was an employee at Lowe Construction Co. for many years. He and his wife owned and operated the Hub Restaurant and Tavern for 10 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
