EVANSDALE — Dwan L. Waddell, 74, of, Evansdale, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 3, 1938, in Mason City, son of Carl A. and Lyla Ruth Stripes Waddell. He married Linda L. Ede on March 6, 1971, in Galena, Ill., and they later divorced.

Mr. Waddell served in the U.S. Air Force and was a painter in Waterloo and surrounding areas.

Survived by a son, Dwan D. of Waterloo; a daughter, Dalonie L. Waddell Kisner of Waverly; four grandchildren; a brother, Warren (Dorothy) of Waterloo; and a sister, Barbara Ransom of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and George; and four sisters: Harriett Hutchins, Ruby Riley, Patricia Saffold and Wanda Estel.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, where visitation begins at noon, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and the Air Force Military Honors Detail.
