Vincent L. Barta, 56, of 721 Fowler Street, deid of pneumonia at 6:30 p.m. Monday upon arrival at St. Francis Hospital. He had been ill for two days.
Born May 31, 1887, at Quarry, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Barta. He married Margaret Dobra* at Quarry, iowa on July 22, 1907, and the couple moved in 1908 to Waterloo where they had since resided. Mr. Barta was employed as a stonecutter until two years ago when he accepted a position with the Construction Machinery Co.
Survivors are the widow; three sons: Vincent Jr., 325 Summit Avenue, Edward, 439 Bratnober Street, and Harry, 802 Conger Street; one daughter, Mrs. Harold L. Geick, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and one sister, Mrs. Carl Moline, Route 3, Waterloo.
A daughter and a son preceded him in death.
The body was taken to Petersen Bros. Funeral Home.
*Researcher Chuck has the maiden name Dobry instead of Dobra.
