John Siebel, 95, who had been a resident of this community for 50 years, died Friday evening of ailments incident to age.
He was born in Germany on Jan. 7, 1830. and came to the United States when 20 years old, accompanied by two sisters. They settled in Illinois and remained there 10 years, then Mr. Siebel came, to Eagle Township.
His marriage to Katherine Klein, who survives, took place in 1867.
Eight children survive: Mrs. Theodore Schaefer, Mrs. Peter Bauler. Mrs. John Schaefer, Mrs. Josephine Bedard, Mrs. Emma John and William Siebel, all of Eagle Township, and Mrs. Fred Berger, Waterloo. There are 29 grandchildren.
