George Francis Sr.

George Francis, 75, died at 5:15 a.m. today at his home, 738 Cleveland Street, from cancer of the stomach. He had been seriously ill two months.

Deceased was born July 21, 1853, at Hailing, Kent, England. He married Miss Charlotte Tllley there March 26, 1876. and the couple came to the United States 20 years ago.

Francis had been employed by the Chicago Great Western Railroad as water pumper on Falls Avenue. He was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving besides his widow are two sons, Amos Francis, 808 Knoll Avenue, and John Francis, Cedar Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Smoker, 1491 Newell Street, and Mrs. Florence Baker, Phlppen, Sask., also 15 grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.*

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Petersen Bros.' chapel. Rev. Lew C. Harris, pastor of Christian church. officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood.
