CEDAR FALLS — Sylvia A. Osgood, 85, of the Cedar Falls Western Home, formerly of Waterloo, died there Monday, Jan. 10, 2005.

She was born Dec. 3, 1919, in Waterloo, daughter of Clarence L. and Edith Plautz Warneka. She married Kenneth L. Osgood Oct. 5, 1940, in Waterloo. He died Nov. 28, 1998.

Mrs. Osgood worked at various jobs in and around Waterloo, retiring from the Waterloo School System in food sendee in 1981.

Survivors include a son, Bob Osgood of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jacklyn Kay (Clark) Brollier of Waterloo; four grandchildren: Heather, Michelle, Morgan and Reagan; three great-grandchildren, Bryton, Grayden and Kiara; and a sister, Helen Bartling of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by a brother, Robert Warneka, and two sisters, Dorothy Nielsen and Edith Whitmer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemeteiy. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and also for one hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or to Walnut Ridge Baptist Academy.
