CEDAR FALLS — Betty J. Smith, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Lutheran
Home.

She was born March 12,1922, in Waterloo, daughter of Nels F. and Sofia K. Jorgensen Christensen. She married Bruce M. Smith on April 30,1945, in El Paso, Texas.

Mrs. Smith had been office manager for many years for Waterloo Building Co./Bruce Smith Realty

Survivors include her husband; three sons: Ken (Twyla) of Longmont, Colo., and Steve Betty Smith (Bonnie) and Jim (Pam), both of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Donna (Rick) Barta and Julie (Mike) Michalicek, both of Cedar Falls; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Bell of Waterloo and Elna Allen of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Carl and Paul Christensen; and two sisters, Karen Gord and Helen Farmer.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Willow and Pleasant streets, Cedar Falls, with burial in Alcock Cemetery, Frederika. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Lutheran Home.
