JESUP — Burl A. Broad, 87, of Jesup, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein, of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 23, 1917, in Black Hawk County, son of Fred Broad and Josie Purdy Broad. On Aug. 18,1940, he married Thelma Marie Ingamells in Independence.

Mr. Broad was a shipping and receiving clerk for Chamberlain Manufacturing Co., Waterloo, for 33 years, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra (Alan) Kuebler of Piano, Texas, and Sharon (Russell) Andreassen of Waterloo; two sons, Ronald of Melbourne, Fla., and Richard Broad of Eagan, Minn.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Loren Broad of Fort Collins, Colo.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Maurice Broad.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Cedar Crest Cemetery both in Jesup. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials will be directed to the church.
