EVANSDALE — Loretta Ann Kolar, 85, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of complications of pneumonia.

She was born June 17, 1919, in Festina, daughter of Bernard and Clara Busch Bruening. She married Leonard C. Kolar Oct. 10,1939, in Waucoma. He died in September 1984. Mrs. Kolar was a custodian at Schoitz Memorial Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Connie) of Cedar Falls and Don (Jo) of Evansdale; four daughters: Mary (Charlie) Wright of Covington, Va., Sandra Titus of Waterloo, Jane (Roger) Seehase of Cedar Falls and Debra (Gary) Wesely of Evansdale; two sisters, Mary Franzen and Evelyn (George) Opperman, both of Hawkeye; 22 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by four brothers: Joseph in infancy Lawrence, Louis and Marcellius; five sisters: Elizabeth Franzen, Bertha Riha, Frances Thelman, Lucile Theilke and Mildred Fels; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service.
