Funeral services for Edward V. (Ted) Swift, 35, of 112 S. Roosevelt Rd., Evansdale, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kearns - Dykeman Chapel. Mr. Swift died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City, of cancer. He had been a patient there for the last month.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born in Waterloo, Nov. 9, 1931, the son of John Edward and Myrtle McGowan Swift. On Nov. 6, 1965 he married Janice Dawdy in Preston, Minn.

He had served with the Marine Corps during the Korean War and had been employed as an iron worker for the Kenco Development Corp. and the Hinkle Construction Co., Cedar Falls.

Survivors include his widow; his father, 616 Boston Avenue; three sons: Michael and Allan, at home, and Steven, 175 W. 17th Street; three daughters: Lori, Dee Ann and Wendy Sue, all of 175 W. 17th Street; one stepson, Jimmy, and one stepdaughter, Lisa, both at home.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
