Services for Elmer Bitterly, 84, of LeMars, formerly of Waterloo, will be 11 am. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery with burial in Memorial Park.

Mr. Bitterly died Friday at the Abbey in LeMars of complications of age.

He was born Oct. 18, 1892, at La Porte City, the son of Edward and Anna Ripley Bitterly. He married Fern Kelly, June 4, 1933, in Waterloo.

He was a World War I veteran. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge 290 and the Masonic Lodge 105, both in Waterloo. He was employed with the WCF&N railroad until his retirement in 1958.

Survivors include a son, Robert, and a sister, Mabel both of LeMars.

Luken-Johson Funeral Home, LeMars, in charge of arrangements.
