Services for Vernon P. "Hump" Miller, 52, of 524 S. Hackett Road, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church with burial in Gardden of Memories Cemetery.

Mr. Miller died of cancer Wednesday (Nov. 2, 1988) at Covenant Medical Center at Kimball Avenue.

He was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Alexandria, Minn., son of Hugo and Ida Krause Miller. He was a construction mechanic for 27 years for John G. Miller Construction Co. and Cardinal Construction Co.

Survivors include his mother of Waterloo; two brothers, Walter of Dunkerton and Otto C. of Janesville; and a sister, Helen Schuler of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 2:30 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Cedar Valley Hospice, or the Covenant Medical Center Hospice Unit on Kimball Avenue.
