CEDAR FALLS — Oscar A. “Al” Tarrence, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Richland, son of Ray and Elzada Reighard Tarrence. He married Shirley Boyer on June 21, 1946, in Marshalltown.

He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1941 and was employed with H and H Machine Tool Co. as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1995.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Cathy Jo Wershay of New Berlin, Wis.; a son, Scot of New Berlin; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Bradley, both of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Wilma Rainey of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, Clair Devick of Marshalltown; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Ione Devick.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Service, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and also for an hour before services Saturday.

Memorials may be directed to Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa or Build Our Ballpark.
