WATERLOO — Arnold Roy “Sam” McAhren Jr., 65, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, April 17, 2013, following a long illness.

He was born Nov. 6, 1947, in Waterloo, son of Arnold Sr. and Darlene Randall McAhren. He married Barbara Jean Guitar on Aug. 17, 1973, in Waterloo.

Mr. McAhren attended schools in the Waterloo area. He farmed and worked at Aspro for 20 years, retiring in 2010.

Survived by his wife; three brothers: Steve (MaDonna), Verlin (Karen) and Dale, all of Waterloo; and three sisters: Carol McAhren of Minnesota, Deb (Gus) Stevens of Waterloo and Judy (Rick) Wagner of Dubuque.

Preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth Ann.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial at a later date.
