LA PORTE CITY - Harold A. "Hack" Hackerson, 78, of 507 Chestnut St., died at home Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, of natural causes

He was born Nov. 23, 1917, in La Porte City son of Andrew L. and Blanche M. Cole Hackerson. He married Cleo Kruse on March 29, 1947, in Nashua. Mr. Hackerson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed at Toods Toggery clothing store in La Porte City for 17 years, before becoming a district representative for the Carnation Co. out of Omaha for 25 years, retiring in 1977.

Survived by his wife; a son. Ron of Ames; a daughter Ann Philp of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, LaVerne of Northfield Minn., and Neil of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Shirley Coates of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Preceded in death by a sister, Jean Moline.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Community Center in La Porte City, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. Huisman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
