Thomas Harold Swale, 55, of Traer, died Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Tom was born March 16, 1949, in West Union, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Marion (Furgeson) Swale. He graduated from North Fayette High School and went on to serve his Country in the United States Air Force. He married Sandra Williams in 1971 and were later divorced. He then married Jill Minehart August 12, 1986 in St. Cloud, MN. He was employed at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 34 years, retiring in 2002. He currently was with John Deere on contract and was an enumerator with Iowa Ag Services. He raised dairy goats and was active in the Iowa Dairy Goat Association.

Tom is survived by his wife, Jill Minehart of Traer; mother, Marion Swale of Hastings, MN; daughter, Dawn (Mike Christensen) McKinney of Bettendorf; son, Devin (Kathy Berensen) of Brooklyn, NY; granddaughters, Hope and Myra Christensen of Bettendorf; and sisters, Sandra (Gary) Hilden of Hastings, MN, Mary (Roger) Heins of Nekoosa, WI, and Kris (Bill) Keberley of Jekyll Island, GA.

Preceding Tom in death were his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
