CEDAR FALLS - Larry L. Hathaway, 52, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born March 8, 1956, in Danville, Iowa, the son of William and Edith (Chatfield) Hathaway. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Burlington and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. He served his country in the United States Army.

On October 5, 1975, he married Sharon Wehrhan in Waverly. She died December 20, 1980. He then married Denise Lamoreux in January of 1983 in Grimes. They later divorced. He then married Phyllis Milder Dalbey February 14, 1985 in Waterloo. He was employed with Wackenhut Security in Waterloo providing security for John Deere. He was a member of the Waterloo Elks Club.

Survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; two sons, Philip (Jackie) Hathaway of Watertown, SD and Dustyn Hathaway of San Francisco, CA; daughter, Jenifer Hathaway of Iowa City; step son, Glenn (Heather) Dalbey of Cedar Falls; step daughter, Susan Dalbey of Olympia, WA; half brother, Doug (Elizabeth) Wilson of Hemet, CA; and four grandchildren: Summer Rose Hathaway-Cameron, and Fiona, Kalen, and Sebastian Dalbey

Preceded in death by his adoptive father, William Hathaway and birth father, Charles Wilson.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 Monday, October 27, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and also one hour prior to the services at the church. Full military honors provided by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49.
