Mary Louise was born October 4, 1920, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Frost) Fortier. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waterloo and worked for Iowa Securities prior to marriage. On June 1, 1944, she was united in marriage to Edgar O. "Pete" Suiter in Boise, Idaho. He died January 22, 2005. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and crafts, and cooking.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet (James) Stenseth of Naperville, IL and Barbara (Michael) Doeden of Davenport; son, James Suiter of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister, Joan Burns of Waterloo.

Mary Louise died Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Genesis Hospital in Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
