CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Neil Freeman Eastman, 64, of Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, November 14, 1996, of cancer.

He was born September 20, 1932, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Kenneth L. and Dorothy Lucile High Eastman. He married Emma Mane Birk on July 13, 1954, in Schweinfurt, Germany.

Mr. Eastman was employed as an advanced engineer analyst for John Deere Foundry for 26 years, retiring in 1985. He was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survived by two daughters, Helen Odneal of Waterloo and Heidi Hill of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five brothers, Kenneth, Gary, Richard and George, all of Cedar Falls, and Burton of Springfield, Missouri; and four sisters: Donna Grandon and Dorothy Corwin, both of Cedar Falls, Phyllis Troutwine of Geneseo, Illinois, and Patty Hool of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Bruce Birk Eastman.

Services 1:30 p.m. Monday at Barr Funeral Home, formerly Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, with burial in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. Fraternal Order of Eagles service. Visitation also from 9 a.m. until services Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
