Mary Smoldt

Mary was born September 27, 1919, in Waterloo, the daughter of Herbert and Eva (Nass) Claus. On July 30, 1943, she was united in marriage to Paul C. Smoldt. He died May 14, 1988. She was employed as an administrative secretary at Viking Pump, Inc. for many years, retiring April of 1988.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally J. Heidt of Des Moines and Paulette (James) Koepke of Plano, TX; son, William P. (Susan) Smoldt of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Tullis of Waterloo and Thelma Burk of Spokane, WA and brother, Roger Claus of Grandview, MO.

Mary died Saturday, November 8, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Leore Whylder and one in infancy and brother, Herbert Claus.
