CEDAR FALLS - Florence M. Spencer, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 14, 1916, in Tipton, daughter of John M. and Lena L. Reidesel Lang. She married Kenneth C. Spencer March 15, 1935, in Davenport. He died Jan. 16, 1985.

She worked for F.W. Woolworth Co. in Cedar Falls from 1954 to 1961 when she moved to California. There, she was a sales clerk with the Try-It Stores until retiring in 1983.

Survived by three sons, Gail (Nancy) of Hutchinson, Kan., Dennis of Cedar Falls and Gary of Salina, Kan.; three daughters, Phyllis (Jack) Petersen of Waterloo, and Thelma (David) Aneweer and Bonnie Barney, both of Cedar Falls; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Raymond Lang; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Living Water Church of the Nazarene, Cedar Falls, with burial in Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorial fund has been established to be directed to the family.
