RIGDON, HOLDIMAN, KROENECKE, ALA, PONDER

DUNKERTON — Robert L. Rigdon Sr., 74, of Dunkerton, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Waterloo, son of Lee R. and Leone H. Holdiman Rigdon. On Nov. 24, 1957, he married Carol Kay Kroenecke at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Rigdon graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1956. He worked as a tractor mechanic at John Deere Product Engineering Center and became a supervisor before retiring in 1993. He also farmed. He was a former member of UAW Local 838, Waterloo, and was a member of Lord of Harvest Lutheran Church, Fairbank.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Robert Jr. (Cathy) of Dunkerton and Daniel Sr. (Vicki) of Fairbank; a daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) Ala of Dunkerton; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth (Kathy) of Dunkerton; a sister, Marian (Glen) Ponder of Newton; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Rigdon of Maryland.

Preceded in death by a brother, Roland.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lord of the Harvest Lutheran Church, Fairbank, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
