Services for William R. Daley, 89, of 529 Dawson Street, are pending at the Locke Funeral Home.
Mr. Daley died Tuesday morning in Arlington, Va., of a cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born March 25, 1880, in Dublin, Ireland, and came to the United States in 1896. He married Florence G. Dagget July 1, 1903, in Waterloo.
He was a linotype operator for the Waterloo Daily Courier from 1919 to his retirement in 1946. He belonged to Christ Episeopal Church and the International Typographical Union since 1904.
Surviviors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Marion) Clos, 529 Dawson Street; Mrs. Harriet Casey, Falls Church, Va.; one son, James, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. S. David MacMillan, Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and several brothers and sisters.
