WATERLOO — Gloria I. Brown, 85, of Trenton, Ohio, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 21, 2013m at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, Franklin, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Waterloo, daughter of Harry and Carol Bing Kelly. She married Francis E. “Gene” Brown on Sept. 15, 1946, at First Brethren Church, Waterloo.

A 1945 graduate of Waterloo West High School, Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. While in Waterloo she was a member of Central Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Survived by her husband; a son, Tom (Jane) of Waterloo; two daughters, Carol (Jerry) Roberts of Fayetteville, N.C., and Susan Jackson of Trenton; five grandchildren: Stephanie Roberts, Cindy (David) Webb, Matthew Jackson, Kathleen Jackson and Kevin Brown; two great-grandsons, Nicholas and John Webb; two brothers, Richard Kelly of Waterloo and Donald Kelly; a sister, Marilyn Slater; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Kelly.

Preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Arvilla; a brother, Robert Kelly; a son-in-law, Robert Jackson; a brother-in-law, Lyle Slater; and two sisters-in-law, Diane Kelly and Mary Kelly.

Services were March 23 at Woodside Cemetery Chapel, Middletown, Ohio, with burial at Woodside Cemetery.
