EVANSDALE — Mark A. Pierce, 62, of Evansdale, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Iowa VA Medical Center, Iowa City.

He was born Nov. 19, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Donald and LaVonne Meyer Pierce. He married Jane King on Feb. 23, 1974, in Waverly.

He entered the Marines in 1967 during the Vietnam War, and was stationed at Camp Lejeune and in Vietman. He worked at John Deere for 15 years, and then worked at Cedar Metal Works until medically disabled retirement. He was a union member of Local 838, and a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Aaron (Suzan) and Kyle, both of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Elijah and Jace Heasley-Pierce and Lily Ann Pierce, all of Waterloo; two sisters, Donna (Chuck) Page of San Diego and Susan Pierce of Denver, Colo.

Preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Rodney.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, is assisting the family.
