WATERLOO — Dennis Darold Wroe, 46, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center following a sudden illness.

He was born Sept. 2, 1966, in Waterloo, son of Dennis and Billie Waltz Wroe. On Aug. 29, 1987, he married Jennifer Jacobsen, and they later divorced.

Mr. Wroe graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1984, then served in the U.S. Army for five years in Amberg, Germany. He worked for Bertch Cabinets for 15 years and was a member of Evansdale AMVETS Post 31.

Survived by a son, Dennis (Samantha Berinobis) of Waterloo; a daughter, Brooklyn Wroe of Waterloo; four grandchildren: Kale, Brayden, Aliviah and Lei’ana; his parents of Elk Run Heights; two brothers, Scott (Donna) of Elk Run Heights and Chad (Laura) of Cedar Falls; and maternal grandmother, Donna Waltz of Elk Run Heights.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, with military rites by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.

In his free time Dennis enjoyed metal detecting, hunting, fishing and camping.
