WATERLOO — Darrell V. “Doe” Brandt, 91, of Waterloo, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1922, on the family farm in Logan Township, Knox County, Neb., son of George and Lucy True Brandt. He married Caroline G. Becker on March 30, 1944, in Waterloo. She died Sept. 29, 1967.

Mr. Brandt owned and operated Arends and Brandt TV Service for many years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving as fire controlman 2nd class on the USS Humboldt.

Survived by three sons, Richard (Marcia), Dennis (Judy) and Bob (Barb Wagner), all of Waterloo; a daughter, Sandy Kass of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Vernal and John; and five sisters: Maudia Coldiron, Attah Mae Schneider, Margery Damme, Bernice Gerdis and Hazel Vondracek.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military honors accorded by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the U.S. Navy Honors Detail. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
