Services for Russell H. Coates, 74, of 622 Sherman Ave., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Grace United Methodist Church with burial in the Garden of Memories.

Mr. Coates died at early Saturday at University Hospitals at Iowa City.

He was born, Oct. 18, 1909, in Delhi, Ia., son of Frank and Edith Andrews Coates. He married Helen Dorothy McNamee July 1, 1933, in Waterloo. He worked at the Waterloo Water Works for 23 years, retiring 12 years ago.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Ronald L. of Hiawatha; a grandson; a brother, Frank of Marion; and a half-brother, Kenneth Andrews of Buckingham.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, where the family will receive freinds from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
