BOESEN, LYNCH, PYLE, TOVVNSEND

Clifford E. Boesen, 85, of 1120 Bourland Ave., died at home Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, of heart failure caused by Parkinson's disease.

He was born April 21, 1909, in Fredericka, son of Bernard and Ellen Marie Lynch Boesen. He married Delores Irene Pyle on Nov. 11, 1940, in Waterloo.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in 1972 after 28 years. He was a World War 11 veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Stephen B. of Buchanan County and Terry L. of Waterloo; two daughters, Sandy Tovvnsend and Penny Boesen, both of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Preceded in death by a brother, Howard.

Services were 1 p.m. today at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery; graveside military rites were conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 162. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
