WATERLOO — Keon Dale ‘Rosie’ Smith, 38, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Waterloo.

He was born July 21, 1974, in Waterloo, son of Leo and Evelyn Jackson Dale.

Mr. Smith was a Waterloo West High School graduate. He was a truck driver in the Waterloo area for many years and was currently employed as transportation manager by Alpha Express. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Mark Anthony Smith of Waterloo; his biological mother, Sally Stevens of Waterloo; seven brothers: Leon (Sherri) Dale of Cedar Rapids, Marvin (Zaneta) Dale of Minnesota, Brian (Ingrid) Dale of Denver, Colo., Keith Masseo of Des Moines, Robert Smith of Kansas, Cornell Hoosman of Waterloo, and Ben (Linda) Jackson. Jr. of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; seven sisters: Kandie (Leon) Higgins, Bridget (Harold) Sisk, Patricia Jackson and Betty Lou Hodges, all of Waterloo, Twyla (the Rev. Darnell) Thomas of Texarkana, Texas, Sarah (Rufus) Hill of Minnesota and Shirley Harrington of O’Fallon, Mo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Dale.

Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Baptist Church, with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Greer Funeral Home and for an hour before services Wednesday at church.
