Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 a. m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Joseph Kelly, 73, of 117 Dawson St. The Rev. L. W. Klassen, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Kelly died at 10:10 a. rn. Saturday at the Woodlawn Convalescent Home. He had been ill for seven weeks following a stroke

The son of Timothy and Dorothy Reynolds Kelly, he was born Aug. 20, 1880, at Peosta. For 43 years he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad and for many years served as locomotive engineer. He retired in 1947.

On April 25, 1916, he married Rita Byrne at Dubuque. He had been a resident in Waterloo since 1917. He was a member of St. Mary's Caiholic Church, Brotherhood of Firemen and Locomotive Engeers, Waterloo Council, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, two sons and two daughters: Eugene F. of Fulton, Ky.; Mrs. Marguerite Kyle of Fort Worth, Tex., Mrs. Marie V. Stucker of Bennington, Neb., and John, at home.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Annie Branigan of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Edward Rucker of Altadena, Calif., and one brother, T. F. Kelly of Sioux City.

The rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home. The body will be at the funeral home until time for the service.
