Michael E. Elsberry, 46, of Waterloo died Monday September 10, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born May 14, 1961 in Waterloo, son of Charles E. and Shirley A. VanSickle Elsberry.

He married Lori Badker Sept. 24, 1983 in Waterloo. They were later divorced. Michael was a self-employed house painter.

Survivors include three children: Nathan, Amber, and Jeremy; a granddaughter; his mother Shirley A. Elsberry of Waterloo; two sisters, Linda (Rod) Fortune, of Cedar Rapids, and Peg (Steve) Pape, of Cedar Falls and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hammond Avenue Brethren Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services on Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Michael loved being in the outdoors camping and traveling especially in the Tetons. He took pride in helping create the Cedar Valley Nature Trail.
