CEDAR FALLS — Doreen P. Lease Main, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living Center.

She was born April 23, 1923, in Fort Madison, daughter of Cecil J. and Grace M. Hamil Lease. She married William C. Main Jr. on Dec. 16, 1944, in Davenport, and they later divorced.

Ms. Main graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1940 and obtained her teaching certificate in 1942. She taught in Keota, before graduating from Air Hostess School through Transcontinental Airlines (TWA). She later earned her bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and her master’s in counseling from the University of Iowa.

Survived by two sons, William III (Beth) of Metairie, La., and Douglas Main of Cedar Falls; an adopted daughter, Jeannette Mukayisire of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Kristin (Randy) Montgomery, Jennifer (Adam) Saucier, Alexander (Morgan), Benjamin and Meridith Main, and William A. Main; an adopted grandson, Noah Mukayisire; five great-grandchildren: Emily, Victoria and Lauren Montgomery, Tyler Saucier and Andrew Main; and a brother, Richard “Dick” (Marilyn) Lease of Bettendorf.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diane M. Main; and a brother, C. John Lease.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment at 1 p.m. Monday in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
