WATERLOO — Shirley Jean Jackson, 80, of Waterloo, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Waterloo, daughter of Donnell and Melba Rose Albee. She married Argall Lee Jackson on Jan. 7, 1956, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 13, 2011.

Mrs. Jackson graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1950. She worked at Rath Packing Co. for six years, Hinson Manufacturing for 11 years and was a bookkeeper for the family business, Ryan Exterminating, since 1977.

Survived by a son, Michael Lee of Waterloo; two daughters, Cindy Lou (Edward) Krezek of Waterloo and Nancy Jean (Scott) Scholz of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Gene) Fassett of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Albee of Utica, Calif.

Preceded in death by a brother, Donnell Albee.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with inurnment later in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Shirley was a loving, gentle caregiver all her life. She loved being Mrs. Argall Jackson. In their 55 years of marriage, the couple made many memories dancing at Electric Park Ballroom, spending time with the Polk Street Gang, many camping trips to Red Wing, Minn., and many years at Harpers Ferry. Her greatest love was for her family. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
