CEDAR FALLS — Leonard C. Juhl, 92, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, died there Sunday, March 17, 2013.

He was born July 20, 1920, in Dike, son of James and Helen Grunnet Juhl. He married Barbara Darnell on June 2, 1945, in England. She died March 4, 1972. He then married Jean Wilson on Aug. 30, 1974, in Cedar Falls. She died March 6, 2012.

Mr. Juhl served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He farmed his adult life in rural Cedar Falls, retiring in 1985.

Survived by a daughter, Helen Mease of Cedar Falls; a daughter-in-law, Linda Juhl of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren: Janice (Jeff) Gutknecht of Cumming, Jeff (Jennifer) Juhl of Cedar Falls, Jennifer (Jim) McDivitt of Aplington and Jared (Andrea) Mease of Waterloo; and five great-grandchildren, Justin and Jacey Gutknecht, Jacob and Joshua Juhl, and Kaylie Sharar.

Preceded in death by a son, Francis; and a sister, Verla Richards.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at NewAldaya Lifescapes chapel, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Salvation Army.
