Alvin Lee Gaines, 30, of Aurora, Colo, formerly of Lane Street, died Friday, Dec. 28, 1990, at Brighton, Colo. He died of a gunshot wound and it is being investigated by the Aurora Police Department.

He was born May 5, 1960, in Waterloo, son of Alonzo and Ollie Gaines Jordan. He attended East Waterloo High School, moving to Colorado in 1986. He was employed by L&R Pallets in Aurora.

Survivors include a son, Alvin Jr. of Waterloo; two daughters, Secoria and Sharina Gaines, both of Waterloo; his parents of Waterloo; three brothers: Jay and James, both of Waterloo, and Neal, stationed in the Persian Gulf with the U.S. Army; three sisters: Roshelle Jordan of Davenport, and Rogenia and Maureen Jordan, both of Waterloo; and maternal grandparents, Willie C. and Estella Newman of Waterloo.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Morning Star Funeral Chapel where the family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m.
