WATERLOO —Robert R. "Bob" Bruening, 64, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center of a heart attack.

He was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Cresco, son of Charles J. and Carrline Moudry Bruening. He married Eileen White Nov. 25,1961, in Bluffton, and they were later divorced. He married Alice Scott in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.

Mr. Bruening was employed at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He also served with the U.S. Army

Survivors include JoAnn (Dennis) Sharrar of Shepherd, Mich.; two grandchildren, Douglas Sharrar and Jessica Bruenmg; two great-grandchildren; a special friend, Alice; a brother, Donald (Helen) Bruening of Hanahan, S.C.; and a sister, Dale Brown of Cresco.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Raymond and a son in infancy; four brothers: Virgil, Joe, Frances and Vince; and a sister, Dorothy.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and for an hour before services Saturday Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.
