[Waterloo Courier, Tuesday, October 4, 1966]

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Francis M. Brown, 62, of 1752 Park Lane, who died at Allen Memorial Hospital at 6 a.m. Tuesday of emphysema. He had been a patient at the hospital for one week. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born near Corning on Aug. 10, 1903, the son of Warren A. and Martha Milburn Brown. He married Beryl Plants on Dec. 25, 1922, in Clearfield and had resided in Waterloo since 1937. He was a Lutheran.

He was employed for the past 11 years at the Carnation Milk Co., retiring in 1965 due to ill health. Prior to working there he was employed in the foundry of the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 16 years.

He is survived by his widow, two sons: Francis E. of 109 Virden, and Russell O. of 1752 Lark Lane; two daughters, Mrs. Cleta Aasberg of 433 Reber Ave., and Mrs. Patricia Herbsleb of Camp Hartman, Cedar Falls, one brother, Lawrence of 1752 Lark Lane, one sister, Mrs. Linia Peterson of San Diego, Calif., and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Norma Huseman in 1960, and one son and one brother.

Funeral services will be p.m. Thursday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Francis M. Brown, 63, of 1752 Lark Lane. The Rev. Robert R. Hildebrandt, pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, will officiate at a family prayer service to be at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel and also at the main service. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until shortly before the service time when the casket will be closed during and after the srevice.

Mr. Brown died Tuesday morning at Allen Hospital of emphysema.
