EARL V. CORWIN

CEDAR FALLS - Memorial services for Earl V. Corwin, 69, of 616 Grant St., who drowned near Waverly Nov. 17, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home. The Rev. David Holm, pastor of the Cedar Bible Baptist Church, will officiate.

Graveside services will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date, when the body is recovered.

Mr. Corwin was born March 13, 1904, in Black Hawk County, the son of Harry and Minnie Engleman Corwin. He married Mary E. Gibson in Cedar Falls Feb. 8, 1949. He worked many years for the city of Cedar Falls as a fireman at the light and gas plant.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; four stepdaughters: Mrs. Louis Trainor, Readlyn, Mrs. Dale Lee, 1315 Parkway Ave., Mrs. Lyle Ackerson, New Hartford, and Mrs. Donna Lake, San Jose, Calif.; four brothers: John of Denver Roger of Janesville, Lawrence of 716 State St., and Donald of 1622 Franklin St.; one sister, Mrs. Joe Kreger of Waverly; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

CEDAR FALLS - The body of Earl V. Corwin, 69,of 616 Grant Street was recovered from the Cedar River Sunday. Mr. Corwin drowned when he fell from a boat while fishing in the Cedar River southeast of Waverly on November 17, 1973.

Committal services for Mr. Corwin will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls.

He was born March 13, 1904, in Black Hawk County, the son of Harry and Minnie Engleman Corwin.

He married Mary E. Gibson on Feb. 8, 1947 in Cedar Falls. He worked for both the light and gas plants in Cedar Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; four step-daughters: Mrs. Lois Trainor of Readlyn, Mrs. Dale Lee of 1315 Parkway Ave., Mrs. Lyle Ackerson of New Hartford and Mrs. Donna Lake of San Jose, Calif/; four brothers: John of Denver, Roger of 7125 Waverly Rd., Janesville, Lawrence of 716 State Street and Donald of 1622 Franklin St.; one sister, Mrs. Joe Kreger of Waverly.

Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
