MCKINNEY, BOLSINGER, FUNK, DIXON, SAVERY, CARTER

Clesson M. McKinney, 71, of 2007 Falls Ave., died at 9:10 a.m. Monday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of pneumonia.

He was born May 6, 1896, in Colesburg, the son of William and Nora Bolsinger McKinney.

He married Elvina Funk on April 21, 1926 at Elkader.

He lived near Guttenberg until coming to Waterloo in 1936. He was employed at the Rath Packing Co. until 1954, when he retired due to medical disabilities.

McKinney was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his widow; a son, John, of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Dixon, of 2312 Hawthorn Ave.; two sisters, Mrs. Madge Savery, of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Mildred Carter, of Council Bluffs; three brothers: Ross, of Brainerd, Minnesota, Wilson of Omaha, Mebraska, Merton, of Canada; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Don H. Poiston, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the City Cemetery at Guttenberg. Friends may call at the funeral home.
