WATERLOO — Anna H. Abbott, 91, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, March 3, 2013, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Wesley, daughter of Reikes and Grace Knapper Reinken. She married Keith Merryman on Dec. 13, 1941, in Britt, and they later divorced. She then married Billy Abbott on May 7, 1954, in Albert Lea, Minn. He died in 1980.

Mrs. Abbott worked in the obstetrics unit at Allen Memorial Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1993.

Survived by five sons: Duane (Tootie) Merryman of Warsaw, Mo., David Abbott, Randall Abbott and Gary (Roni) Church, all of Waterloo, and Grant Abbott of Sydney, Mont.; a daughter, Dianna (James) Retzlaff of Harpers Ferry; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.
