Sherman Green, 73, of 211 Manson Street, who retired in 1938 after 32 years service as an Illinois Central railroad laborer, died at 8 p. m. Saturday in Isolation Hospital after a five month illness.

A resident here since 1917, Green was born Oct. 1, 1868, in Madison, Miss.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Hattie Lee Green; three daughters, Mrs. Cornelia Lambert and Miss Gussie Green, Melrose Park, Ill, and Mrs. Lillie Weemes, Durant,Miss.; a stepson, Thomas, 211 Manson; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Lulu Hill, Goodman, Miss.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Church of God in Chirst.

The body was taken to Kistner's Funeral Home.
