Lena Johanna Claassen, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, March 1, 2004, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.
She was born June 6, 1918 at Stewartville, Minnesota, the daughter of Amo & Grace Aswegan.
She married Harold S. Claassen and they were later divorced. She married Morris Williams and they were later divorced. She was employed at the Black Hawk Hotel, the Blue Room Lounge and had various waitressing jobs until being employed in the housekeeping department at Sartori Memorial Hospital retiring in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Emil Claassen of Moumelle, Arkansas and Dean (Carol) Claassen of St. Mary's, Georgia; one daughter, Linda Crook of Waverly; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents; one daughter, Marjorie, in infancy; one brother, Luke Aswegan; and one sister, Grace Kohlman.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.
A memorial fund will be established.
