MRS. ELLEN PRESSNALL

Mrs. Ellen Atlanta Pressnall, widow of John M. Pressnall, died Wednesday at 6:15 p. m. in her home, 311 Norwood Avenue, from a kidney ailment. She was 80 years old.

Born Oct. 21, 1860, at Painesville. Ohio, she was the daughter of Benjamin J. and Lydia Ann Titus. In her early girlhood she attended Mentor academy, at Mentor, Ohio. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1870. She finished in Buchanan County rural schools and attended schools at Winthrop, lowa, for several years. Later she was a teacher in the Buchanan County school system.

Following her marriage in 1892 to John M. Pressnall at Aurora, Iowa, the couple lived in Chicago, Illinois, later in Aurora, and for some time in Arlington, lowa. They moved to Waterloo in 1910. Mrs. Pressnall was a member of the Congregational church at Winthrop, lowa.

Mr. Pressnall died in Waterloo in 1923. Their son, Benjamin T. Pressnall, died here Sept. 7, 1939, and his wife, Ruth E. Pressnall. here. May 13, 1940.

Surviving are a brother, Fred A. Titus, Independence, lowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Carrier, Independence, and Miss Lenore Titus. 311 Norwood.

Funeral services have been set tentatively for Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Parrott & Wood Chapel, with Rev. Charles J. Grunnell, rector of Christ Episcopal church, in charge. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
